When I decided to tell the lifestory of Araba, I felt it would be better to allow her to tell the story in her own words. I took the samples of this writings from Araba's website she created 12 years ago.  I hope this serves as a reminder to us of how much she means to all of us.

ALL ABOUT THE MADEMOISELLE

C'est Moi (About Me)

The name is Araba Sam-Tagoe. For those that don't know, Araba is a name given to a girl born on Tuesday. It is a Fanti name, and Fanti is one of the numerous languages spoken in Ghana. Maame Aba (Appiawaa) was and is my grandmaa's name and as a tradition I was named after her. But I was also given Maame Araba (Appiawaa). My family members usually call me Maame, Maaba and others call me Nana which they prefer. I am 100% Ghanaian and representing the black star to the fullest and there is no doubt about that. Ghana is always going to be my MOTHERLAND. There is definitely no place like home. Well enough about that part.

I was born on one sunny Tuesday afternoon on the 13th of December, some twenty one (21) years ago. I come from a family of three people or should I say individuals????.... I was born to my mom Grace and my dad Wilfred. I am sure u are wondering if I am the only kid, well I am. Please don't be too happy about that or try to say "she is mommy and daddy's gurl". May be I am but not really. There are advantages and disadvantages for being the only child. I do long for my own sibblings so much but I have come to realised that I will not have one and I thank God for giving me a lot of cousins and friends that I cheerish and love with all my heart.

SOME OF MY INTERESTS
History ~ Politics ~ Anything that has to do with african affairs ~ Health ~ Languages ~ Information Technology ~ Humanitarism ~ Culture etc.

HOBBIES
Reading books most of the time family oriented ones. But I also enjoy any other kinds. My favourite authors are V.C. Andrews, and John Grisham. I do enjoy thrillers as well and a little Sci-fi. Not forgetting Shakespeare's :-). Apart from the books I like dancing, singing, playing basketball when I have the time, swimming, crotchetting, knitting, etc

STRONG PASSION

I have a strong passion for music. I listen to music all the time. I am addicted to it. I even sleep with music I should say. Crazy eh? I love music. I find it to be very soothing and helps me a lot when I am going through stuff in my life.

Daily dose of the word of God is part of my life. God is my light and my salvation. He has been there for me all my life and is still with me through thick and thin.

Everything that has to do with architecture is also part of me. I love designing buildings which is exactly what I am doing right now at work. I design either manually or using autocad.

I also have a passion for painting. I make my emotions clear with each brush stroke.

Love means so much to me. I love unconditionally and expect the other person to do the same thing. Love keeps me going and going.

My Inspiration...
In Pain...

It is God who arms me with strength
and makes my way perfect.
He makes my feet like the feet of the deer;
he enables me to stand on the heights.
--Psalm 18:32-33

When you're in pain,
and it seems like
no one understands;
when it has gotten exhausting
to even talk about the way
you're suffering,
remember God.
Others may turn their
back on you,
but He never will.
You need explain
nothing to Him.
He knows how you suffer,
and He can see what's
in your heart.
Lean on Him.
Put your faith in Him.
He promised that He would
never forsake you,
and you can depend on Him

WHAT FAMILY MEANT TO ARABA IN HER OWN WORDS

What Is Family?...
Family, is a basic unit of social structure, the exact definition of which can vary greatly from time to time and from culture to culture. I consider myself as part of a huge family, talking about my extended family of course. My nuclear family isn't that huge at all. There are only three of us actually. My mom, dad and myself. I know what u are probably saying that she is must be daddy's or mommy's girl. Well maybe I am :) but not really. There are advantages and disadvantages for being the only child. I do longed for my own sibblings too. But hey I am so thankful for having lots of cousins. Cousins u guys are the best.

On my dad's side I have one uncle and four aunties, making them six in all with my dad included of course. I can't ask for more.

My mom's side on the other hand, I have one aunt and four uncles. With my mom included, they are six in all. They are all the best!.

Mom And Dad (Grace and Wilfred)
The most beautiful woman on earth, the woman who birthed me is Grace. Hmm just the name sends something through my body.

The other half of me, my dad, the big guy, is Wilfred (sam-tee).

Oh four in all, that explains how much I longed for one more new member to my family. :)
My Two Sweet Grandmaas (Mrs. Tagoe and Mrs. Jane Howard)
Mrs. R.O Tagoe is a God sent. She has the brains, beauty, strength, love and more than u can imagine. She is the best Grandmaa on the planet. Don't try to play with her at all. She is a retired teacher and u know how teachers can be

Hmmm what can I say about my Mrs Jane Howard? Well she rocked my world. I was with her all the time. So loving, caring and whatever word in the good book applies to her. I love and miss u Grandmaa RIP.

Love conquers all
  Aunties, Uncles And Cousins
From Dad side, aunties and uncles are Ruby, Eileen, Abigail, Efua, Paa Gyete. Hey not forgetting my dear step uncle Francis. They are all great. Loving, caring,

From Mom side, my aunties and uncles are Ebo, Joe, Tawia, Jane, Ato and my mom. As u can see they have fanti names, but they do have english names as well. I love the fanti names, I love this other side of my heritage.

MY COUSINS - MOM SIDE

They are Moses (Ebo), Harry (joe), Jane (maame), Jessie (Maame), Nkow, Nana Asor, Kobby, Kow, etc

Yaa, Claud (Papa Ampoful), Claudia (Maame Kakra), Maame Mensima, Robert (Nii), Theophilius (Nenyi Teiko), Ebo, Adelaide, Mommie, Paapie, Kobbie, Paa Hustice, Lindsay, Sarah, etc

WHAT FRIENDSHIP MEANT TO ARABA IN HER OWN WORDS

MY HEART IS ALWAYS HAPPY

My heart is always happy
When I truthfully can say
That by the grace of God
I made another friend today.

There is no better way
In which to use the time we spend
Than just to smile and say hello
And find another friend.

We cannot have too many
For the courage that we need
If only in the comfort of
A good and kindly deed

If only in the counsel
And the words of sympathy
That leave no doubt or question
As to their sincerity.

And so it always is a day
That has a happy end
When I can tell myself
That I have made another friend.

!

special kind of love..

"The secret to friendship is being a good listener."

"A true friend is someone
you can trust with all
your
 secrets."

but friends are priceless."

Thanks for being there for me!!

A friend is someone
who listens and cares,
a friend is someone
who's always there.
A friend brings happiness
that can warm and mend.
I'm glad that I can
call you a friend.
A lot of people have
entered my life,
but one thing remains true...
I've never met a single soul
who has touched my heart like you.

Thank you for being a friend.

(U KNOW WHO U ARE)

****Thanks to Akua Anipa

A Friend Like U...

There's lots of things
With which I'm blessed,
Tho' my life's been both Sunny and Blue,
But of all my blessings,
This one's the best:
To have a friend like you.

In times of trouble
Friends will say,
"Just ask... I'll help you through it."
But you don't wait for me to ask,
You just get up And you do it!

And I can think
Of nothing in life
That I could more wisely do,
Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And love a friend...like you.

I Believe In U!!!

Dear Friend,

Thanks for always being there when I need you.
You are always the first person I turn to.
Thanks for lending a supportive ear.
And for just being there.
I want you to know how much your friendship means to me and how appreciative I will always be.
Your Friend Always, ARABA
